Executive Board Meeting
May 17, 2011

The Board meeting was called to order at 6:35p.m. by Wanda Anesh, our president, those in attendance were, Renee Pryor, Kevin Commins, Aileen Zeidman, Nancy Kuechle, Sharon Hyland-Elstein, Alan Corlin, Steve Wieber, Laura Frakes, in the Culver City Julian Dixon Library.

The minutes were accepted.

Standing Reports

Treasurer's Report John Kuechle -We received a $500.00 check from Google. Also, we picked up a lot of cash from the book sale room in the amount of $818.00. We are at $207,085.00.

Book Sale Chair's Report Steve Wieber - Needs to meet with staff members to take books back and forth.

X library books which are very nice, but can't go back into the library. A call was made for the bin roll off so we will have it in the loading dock. A certificate is needed in recycled books for pick up. Dump green bin for Friday, and this will give us another. We don't pay for the bins.

Elaine will bring donuts, water and drinks.

Membership Report Sharon Hyland-Epstein - We have badges, which wee made by Dolly from the Senior center. Sharon paid for the clips.

When people pay for their books at the sale, we will ask if they want to join or renew. Also, she needs a membership list.

Program Chair Nancy Kuechle/Elaine Hiroshima - Flyers for Service Dogs are done, 50 will be printed. A working dog will be here. However, no petting, they are working dogs. Judy Blake and Cathy Barry are bringing a service dog and a dog in training. The book is titled Lucy's Picture.

June 18th, tea.

July 16th, we have movie night, fun and games before the movie. We will provide Sandwiches and tea before the movie. The movie starts at 7:00. Someone can dress up and read. We also can have crafts instead of games.

$100.00 for movie, $500.00 for movie. Culver City reads movie night. A motion was passed to spend $500 for movie night.
July 23rd, or the 30th. Movie night, not the 16th.

Tea guy from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf will be there.

September story time is cancelled.

Publication Chair Report Aileen Zeidman - June Shabsis lost her son, Justin Shabsis, therefore, we will dedicate the newsletter to him.

Alan will print up membership applications.

Library Report Laura Frakes - Laura will have page staff members look for tools that will help them bring in donations from the loading dock to the new FOL book sorting area.

No word regarding the shed.

A book is being donated called The importance of being Seven.

Mystery play - We can do it in October, and have people look at clues. It's about 2 hours, we will need to practice and we will need volunteer's. However, October might be to soon. We will need to talk about this in the June meeting. We will need organizing type's. Should we charge for this? This may not be suitable for kids. We need to see what the clues are.

Should we serve wine and cheese?
